Re: SimonT Purchased

I guess the next process once the membership situation is sorted out is to run a draft where each league member gets to select a team. Personal preference, I would love it if we started with the 1992-93 rosters. That was the first season with 24 teams, with an even 6 teams in each division, 12 teams...

Re: SimonT Purchased

Good idea Matt. Hell, if we're really short, we can go back further if possible when the NHL consisted of 21 teams before the Sharks joined the league in 91-92, followed by the Senators and Lightning in 92-93 and the Ducks and Panthers in 93-94. That also means I would get to relive my nightmares of...

Re: SimonT Purchased

I'd be fine with one a day sims as long as it remains consistent, maybe two max if some days don't have many games going on.

I'm also in favor of starting with older rosters. We should start with 1990, just so that we can experience the Alexandre Daigle draft again ;)

If we need to find new GMs, we can always go about posting a message here.

Re: SimonT Purchased

Awesome, thanks for doing this Raffi. I've only messed with the free demo version of the sim and it seems like this sim will give us tons of options that we've never had before, like expansion drafts and what not.

I'm excited for this and think it's a good idea to start anew.

Re: Age Reduction Poll

I understand that as well, but like you said, given the lack of responses, we either start anew or try to continue on with your suggested ideas and try to find GMs who would be interested in joining.

Re: Age Reduction Poll

I wouldn't mind a reset given how split the poll is and how many vacancies appear to be available now.

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

I wouldn't mind continuing my duties as the league rule enforcer, unless someone badly wants to take up that post.

Also, one clarification I would like to know is if the buyouts can be determined after the player ages are rolled back.

The rolling back of ages and overall by each decreased year does make a lot of sense. Great idea.

Re: OSHL

I'd say lock out player progression on those who are 80+ overall and who are over a certain age. That way guys don't get over inflated overalls.

Re: OSHL

I'm fine with all of the above suggestions. One thing I would like to see is stricter rules in terms of cap penalties as well given how much leeway team's will be given in terms of having cap flexibility. Also, if we are to revert ages back, should we also consider dropping the ages of UFAs? I feel ...

Re: OSHL

I don't have a full version of FHL Sim but if you guys needed help with rosters, I really would like to rebalance all of the player ages. When a rookie like McDavid and Eichel enter the league at their real current age and we have guys like Crosby and Karlsson and Doughty in their mid-late 30s alrea...

Re: Ok guys, lets put it to a poll

Having 22 votes in place is a good number, guessing the 8 who haven't voted aren't interested, similar to those who didn't bother to vote on the league award voting.

It's the spiritual successor and vastly updated/upgraded version of FHL Sim.

Re: Ok guys, lets put it to a poll

I'm impartial, I would prefer a new sim, but I get others might be trepidatious in switching sims.

I feel like a new sim could present to be more fun as far as giving us more customization options.

Re: Next Season

Do older rosters exist for FHL that we can convert to SimonT (should we make that switch)? Would be awesome to go back to the highest scoring era in NHL history with rosters from 92-93 and work our way up to today. Though that would mean less teams, which could weed out those who are inactive or don...

The one thing I wouldn't mind resetting is players' ages. It's way out of whack with how old players are right now.

Re: Commish Announces Retirement

If we can get a working, updated version of FHL Sim, I wouldn't be opposed to it. I'm also in favor with Justin's suggestion so that we don't throw away the teams we worked many seasons to put together, but whatever the majority is in favor of, I'll be fine with whichever direction we go in.

Re: Commish Announces Retirement

What do you guys think of doing a soft reset, something like where we retain a limited amount of players (for example, 3F-2D-1G) and everyone else gets entered into a draft. i personally am against it. honestly if there a big reset to the rosters im out. whats the point of resetting? a bunch of tea...

Re: Commish Announces Retirement

What's nice about the SimonT editor is that there is a free version available for other GMs to use. I don't think the Eastside Hockey Manager or Fantasy Hockey Manager work that way. Also, reading reviews, it seems like Fantasy Hockey Manager stopped receiving support. The issue with sims like that ...

Re: Commish Announces Retirement

In the past I pushed for Jax to go with SimonT Hockey Sim, which appears to be the spiritual successor of the FHL Sim. http://sths.simont.info/ScreenShots_En.php I think there is also an option to import FHL rosters into it. I haven't messed around too much with it, but it seems like a good choice g...
