Re: SimonT Purchased

My preference is to roll with 24 teams, and make sure we have a steady set of rules/processes/GM's before we think about expanding. There is nothing saying we HAVE to expand when the NHL expanded, or even expand at any point. We could keep 24 teams forever. It's fun having 30 teams, but we also see ...

Re: SimonT Purchased

I say we aim for 24-26 teams. We'll bring probably 15 or more over from OSHL. There is an active community with STHS, so finding GM's on a brand new startup league won't be too hard. I would say we try to not go below 24. Do 12 teams each conference.

Re: SimonT Purchased

Haha. That would be cool to start years back, around 2000, and then we know the draft classes moving forward.

Not sure how that is set up with the ratings packs though.

Re: SimonT Purchased

Yup. I'm heading to bed now, but I'll shoot you an email tomorrow. I will say this prior to us starting. STHS usually runs off of rating packs. There are multiple rating packs available. Basically, these rating packs are updated every July/August which reflect the last season of the NHL. Not to be t...

Re: Age Reduction Poll

Weird. I never got any PM. Well glad you are sticking around.

I hope we can carry a solid 15-20 GMs into the new league. Any openings, I know we can fill most if not all with the active community of STHS.

Re: Age Reduction Poll

I know you aren't asking, but we should have a donation option to you, to help offset some of the cost for the program and potentially the website as well. I know my one league asks for donations, which never match the total expense, but it helps offset and if everyone gave $5, it helps a lot.

Raffi...here is what I found for V3 that isn't in V2. Version 3 Features Only: A very powerful dynamic website programmed including an online news editor in PHP based on a SQLite Database that allow very powerful analyst of your team’s and player’s statistics. You can see an Example here. A web edit...

Re: Age Reduction Poll

If we are resetting, yes, I say move to STHS which is a better piece of software, still supported by the creator, and has a more active community. I think if we can pull 15 GM's from OSHL to the new league. We could get up to 25 teams easy on SimonT. I have a few buddies who may want in. Maybe we ge...

Feel free to buy SimonT and take it over. If we reset but go with SimonT, I'll stay in. I'm not staying in on an FHLSim Reset though.

Re: Age Reduction Poll

Yeah it's a crapshoot. There are 12 GMs probably in no matter what.

Then 3-5 that are in depending on how we proceed.

Then the rest are gone.

With a low community, finding 10 solid GMs is extremely hard

Re: Age Reduction Poll

Even if you reset, you only have 15-20 GM's. Where are you guys finding 10+ Active, Solid, FHL GM's to fill out the remaining teams? Sure, you can contract and bring our total teams to 24-26, but you are still short, looking for 5-10 GM's. Dallas, Col, NYI, TB are all def out. No word from Buffalo, ...

Re: Age Reduction Poll

So we only have 15 votes. Unless we are around 25 GM's, I can't see this working.

We'd have to likely contract down, but I'm not interested in doing that if we only have 18-20 GM's.

Re: Age Reduction Poll

So basically we are down 3 GM's, with about 5 or 6 GM's who I haven't heard from at all. Then pending the results, we may lose more. I think all signs are pointing to the league folding. I tried to step in and revise some rules and set us up for another 10 seasons, but it seems like a lost cause at ...

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

Well, we are down 3 GM's. Col/Dal/NYI are not returning. Still waiting to hear from Buffalo, Minnesota, Montreal, Ottawa, San Jose, Tampa Bay, Washington, Winnipeg. I'll say this, if we lose 6 or more GM's, it may be a folding of the league. Finding 2 or 3 GM's is tough. Finding 6 or more may be imp...

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

I'll put it to a vote. At 11:59pm Saturday, regardless of the number of votes, whichever is leading I'll go with. If its tied, I'm sticking with my plan. This is the only thing I'm putting to a vote. I'm not voting on every single topic to move to Season 11. We'll be in offseason for a year doing th...

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

I fully understand there are going to be age differences. There also is going to be a divide on how we address the age issue. So no matter what system we implement, there will be differing opinions. My feeling is, the age rollbacks will likely happen to guys who are older, so that a GM can keep a pl...

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

I've updated the rules above. I set a schedule that I think will get us to Season 11. Pending Items: 1) Need someone to run Open Market/Unrestricted Free Agency 2) Need Jax to let me know where we are at in the sim. I assume sim ratings haven't been applied. And I assume ages haven't advanced yet. I...

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

I have to sit down and plan this out. I don't want to say anything 100% just yet.

I'd assume we'd do roll backs and all. UFA Resign can occur just before Open Market, and Open Market would be the last offseason item.

I have no idea if sim rerates were done or not. Have to talk to Jax.

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

Hey Chris. So sort of the issue that you were explaining. It kept trying to install to Program Files x86, and not my normal Program Files. When I un-installed everything, re-installed it to Program Files, and then installed Build 468, it worked with no issues. I got the sim up, and the OSHL League F...

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

I spent some time this weekend trying to get used to the website, get the FTP up and running, and get the Sim up and running. I'm having issues with the Sim. First, it's not taking Jaxan's account info. Not sure why. Second, when I used another friends info, and I could get past the registration scr...

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

I don't think a guy going from 33 to 28 years old, and going from 89 OV to 85 OV is hard on older players. In 5 seasons, with store points, sim progression at least twice, the OV will likely match or surpass the original age/overall rating. I think the guideline I typed up is what we'll go with. I'd...

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

I split up the duties because I thought it would be a lot of work for Open Market, and a lot of work on creating players. But its up to you. If you want to take on both, there aren't many stepping up to take on roles lol. Harry seems like he'll be fine doing the League Rules Enforcer role. That just...

Re: OSHL Rulebook (Proposal)

Personally I want to establish our new guidelines going forward. I want to hear from each GM if they are back or not. Because I want everyone to know how things are changing starting Season 11. On top of that, I need to get some sim practice in, because I've never used this before, and I need to mak...
