I am really not interested in a full age reset. To me you may as well just restart the league if that happens. I'm probably going to opt out if that's the case.

I'm not sure you (PJ) understand how much work will go into changing 700+ players.

Count me out as well if this is the case.

FHL Stuff should be able to take care of it, I'd have to look into seeing how doable it is on that program.

So basically we are down 3 GM's, with about 5 or 6 GM's who I haven't heard from at all. Then pending the results, we may lose more.

I think all signs are pointing to the league folding. I tried to step in and revise some rules and set us up for another 10 seasons, but it seems like a lost cause at this point.

So we only have 15 votes. Unless we are around 25 GM's, I can't see this working.

We'd have to likely contract down, but I'm not interested in doing that if we only have 18-20 GM's.

I still don't understand why we shouldn't just press the reset button on everything and we can get going on the season ... OR ... we just continue with what Jax as on files and we move forward. We can't expect to change software and not start all over again..

just my two cents

I wouldn't mind a reset given how split the poll is and how many vacancies appear to be available now.

Even if you reset, you only have 15-20 GM's. Where are you guys finding 10+ Active, Solid, FHL GM's to fill out the remaining teams?

Sure, you can contract and bring our total teams to 24-26, but you are still short, looking for 5-10 GM's.

Dallas, Col, NYI, TB are all def out. No word from Buffalo, Minnesota, Ottawa, San Jose, Washington, Winnipeg. Tony I know is super busy and if I had to guess, probably is out. Wash/Wpg - I rarely hear from either. I'm assuming they are out. Even if we said 2 out of 3 were returning with Buff/Ott/SJ, that leaves us 7 down.

If you do a full roster reset, you are going to lose a few more. Just making sure everyone understands the reality of just doing a full roster reset. Honestly, I love the league/guys, but I may even be out on a full reset. I was only interested in staying in/running it because I put a shit load of time into getting my team to a certain point. If I have to restart that, I have no interest in putting the time in again.

I understand that as well, but like you said, given the lack of responses, we either start anew or try to continue on with your suggested ideas and try to find GMs who would be interested in joining.

Yeah it's a crapshoot. There are 12 GMs probably in no matter what.

Then 3-5 that are in depending on how we proceed.

Then the rest are gone.

With a low community, finding 10 solid GMs is extremely hard

Harry and I have some experience in regards to running a league. I actually met Harry through a league I use to run. Finding GM's was simply as we would do posts on community boards and have an active presence within the fantasy hockey community.

Here's my solution ... we have a solid 10 who are willing to stick around.... I say Fuck it, spend money and buy the god damn best software (I'll pay for it) and fuck the rest all to death and get some new GM's in the mix.

Let's make OSHL great again!

Feel free to buy SimonT and take it over. If we reset but go with SimonT, I'll stay in. I'm not staying in on an FHLSim Reset though.

I agree!! Fuck a reset and stay on the same shitty ass fuck tard software... the creators parents must have been cousins or something....

When I did the poll, everyone enjoyed SimonT over the other one.... So is it safe to say, move on with SimonT???

If we are resetting, yes, I say move to STHS which is a better piece of software, still supported by the creator, and has a more active community.

I think if we can pull 15 GM's from OSHL to the new league. We could get up to 25 teams easy on SimonT. I have a few buddies who may want in. Maybe we get to the 30 team mark still.

Raffi - I don't know if its possible, but try not to buy V3 of STHS. See if you can buy V2. I believe V3 is a monthly fee, where V2 is a one time fee.

V3 has some updates, but last I checked, the updates didn't warrant the difference in pricing.

Im in for STHS. I actually wasnt that interested in staying if you guys stuck with FHL. I have my own FHL and just want one FHL on my plate. Im very interested in STHS because its something totally different and as mentioned - still supported and with a larger community.

I'd also vote for a fresh, clean start. Trying to merge or transfer rosters is likely to cause more issues then just starting with a fresh roster/league file. However, I'd still be interested in taking a team either way.

Found it using google. I was out if we reset with FHL. If you get this new program, I'll give it a try for at least two seasons. If I dont like it I'll bail, but I'll try to give it a real shot.

If we are going STHS, I would say lets just do a fresh restart, seems the easiest option. We can either keep our current teams, do a draft of teams, or switch teams around if someone wants an open one.

Raffi...here is what I found for V3 that isn't in V2.

Version 3 Features Only:

A very powerful dynamic website programmed including an online news editor in PHP based on a SQLite Database that allow very powerful analyst of your team’s and player’s statistics. You can see an Example here.

A web editor to make your roster and lines.

The ability to make contract offer for player with 1 year of contract remaining in the ‘STHS Client’.

Abilities to send your GM email with Today’s Game result.

Career statistics for players and teams

The ability to see pictures of players

All the new features are only introduced in version 3.

Doesn't seem like much, but keep in mind, V2 is now a finished product with no more updates. V3 is the product that Simon is updating regularly and providing most support for.

I know it isn't my money but with everyone likely having smartphones, the web based editor would make it super convenient if you aren't home to get on the computer and set lineups. Or lazy and wish to do it from the couch.
